100th Titan flyby, showing Titan on a huge scale with Saturn in the background

March 6, 2014

Cassini reaches a weighty milestone.

Although it’s named T-99, this is actually the 100th targeted Titan flyby of the Cassini mission. (An extra flyby was inserted early in the mission but after the Titan fly-bys had been named.)

During this flyby the Radio Science Subsystem instrument (RSS) team carries out a Titan Gravity science observation, one of only three in the entire Solstice Mission.
