Enceladus Rev 91 Flyby – Skeet Shoot #9

This Cassini image was the ninth 'skeet shoot' narrow-angle image captured during the Oct. 31, 2008 flyby of Saturn’s moon Enceladus.

The source region for jet VII (see Enceladus Jet Sources) has been identified. The image was taken with the Cassini spacecraft narrow-angle camera on Oct. 31, 2008, at a distance of approximately 6,151 kilometers (3,844 miles) from Enceladus and at a sun-Enceladus-spacecraft, or phase, angle of 75 degrees. Image scale is 35 meters per pixel (115 feet) per pixel.

The Cassini-Huygens mission is a cooperative project of NASA, the European Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a division of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, manages the mission for NASA's Science Mission Directorate, Washington, D.C. The Cassini orbiter and its two onboard cameras were designed, developed and assembled at JPL. The imaging operations center is based at the Space Science Institute in Boulder, Colo.
