Saturn - A feast for the eyes

In its five-year tour of the Saturn system, Cassini has sent home a bounty of fruitful images showing delectable scenes that fill the mind with wonder and awe. This slideshow provides a feast for the eyes.

Cassini has shown us the Earth-like surface of Saturn’s moon Titan and the potential habitability of another moon, Enceladus. These two icy worlds are among the primary targets of an extended tour called the Cassini Equinox Mission, which will fly Cassini by Titan 26 times, and come face-to-face with Enceladus seven times.

During this part of its mission, Cassini will continue to blaze a trail of potential discoveries with a jam-packed itinerary that will bring it closer to unlocking the secrets of its targets. Scientists will monitor seasonal changes on Saturn and Titan; and explore new places within Saturn’s magnetosphere. They spent their summer observing unique ring events and seeing fine detail within the rings. Cassini has quite a science menu on its platter for all to enjoy, so stay tuned for more!
