KIDS SPACE - Activities - Build a Paper Model

Build a Simple Model

Illustration of the simple Cassini-Huygens paper model. This model was developed for the Cassini Teacher Guide. Some compromises in accuracy were made to keep the model easy to assemble. The model includes the Huygens probe, the magnetometer boom, the remote sensing platform which contains the imaging instruments or "cameras", the fields and particles platform, and the Cosmic Dust Analyzer. Assembly only requires scissors and tape or glue. Assembly time is 3 to 6 hours. Detailed instructions for assembly are included in the file. To learn more details on the Cassini spacecraft check out the Challenging Model.

You can download the Cassini/Huygens 1/40th scale model right now as one "Portable Document Format" (pdf) file, which can be read with Adobe's Acrobat Reader software. If you don't have the program, you can download the Acrobat Reader from the Adobe website, free of charge.
