Transcript for Targets Overview Video
Welcome to the Spring 2008 edition of Cassini Scientist for a Day! My name is Powtawche, and my job is to design maneuvers for the Cassini spacecraft currently orbiting Saturn.
Have you ever wondered what it is like to be part of a large science team with a spacecraft as your remote laboratory ?
Now is your chance to join the team, You have an opportunity to be a scientist for a day by telling us which target you think is most likely to yield the most science data.
Images taken by the cameras on Cassini aid scientists with their understanding of Saturn and its moons.
Images can help scientists identify prominent features, examine surfaces, observe interactions and peer closely between Saturn's rings.
We want you to choose one of three available targets, and tell us why this target is important. Your detective work can unveil more questions and offer more clues to help unlock mysteries about the Saturnian system.
My colleagues, Rob, Chris and Kelly will share their reasons for why you should pick their favorite target. Learn as much as you can about these three sites and choose YOUR favorite to write about.
Your essays will be evaluated by Cassini scientists and educators, the winners will be chosen by Cassini team members.
Thank you for your interest in Cassini Scientist for a Day, and good luck with your essays -- we look forward to hearing from you!
